RISC-V Brazil 2025

Brazil has shown increasing and strategic involvement with the open-standard RISC-V instruction set architecture (ISA). In recent years, particularly between 2023 and 2024, the country has intensified its actions, consolidating its position as a relevant player on the global stage—especially in Latin America. This movement reflects a deliberate policy to foster innovation in semiconductors and pursue greater technological autonomy.

RISC-V Brazil 2025 aims to bring together the community committed to making Brazil an independent nation in the development of essential technologies such as semiconductors, processors using the open RISC-V standard, high-performance computing (HPC), and Artificial Intelligence.

The open RISC-V standard, whose specification is governed by RISC-V International, headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, is recognized for its flexibility, scalability, and neutrality. Its adoption has been growing exponentially, with projections indicating it may reach 25% market share across all segments by 2030.

RISC-V Brazil 2025 will feature the participation of professionals from both local and international markets, as well as representatives from academia, research institutes, associations, and companies—both domestic and foreign.

Going to Campinas

Campinas is conveniently accessible from three major airports. From Viracopos International Airport (VCP), the city center is approximately a 20-minute drive, with taxis, rideshare services, and shuttle options readily available. For those arriving at São Paulo’s Guarulhos International Airport (GRU), the journey to Campinas typically takes between 1.5 and 2 hours by car or executive bus, depending on traffic conditions. Travelers arriving at Rio de Janeiro’s Galeão International Airport (GIG) can reach Campinas by connecting flights to VCP or GRU, or by ground transportation, though the trip by car is significantly longer.

All major airlines operate flights to Brazil. Travelers from the United States can also fly directly to Campinas via Azul Airlines, with departures from Miami, Orlando, and Fort Lauderdale.

Additionally, from São Paulo’s Guarulhos International Airport (GRU), it is possible to take an Uber to Campinas.

As of April 10, 2025, citizens of the United States, Canada, and Australia are required to obtain an electronic visa (e-visa) to enter Brazil for tourism, business, transit, or certain cultural activities. Applying at least two weeks before travel is recommended. The e-visa application is completed online through the official portal: brazil.vfsevisa.com. Applicants must submit a valid passport, a passport-style photo, and pay a fee.
